IMPORTANT UPDATE- May 13 2026- We just shipped out our first batch of Eastern Monarch Caterpillars! We have another large batch that will be ready this coming week and we start fulfilling orders in high quantities from there. If you placed your order before May 1st, your caterpillars should arrive in the next few weeks, if not sooner as we ship them in weekly batches from oldest to newest. If you placed your order after May 1st, then it should be ready in Early June.
This product is only for customers who live on the EASTERN side of the country, EAST of the continental divide (AKA The Rocky Mountains). You are good to go if you live on the East Coast, the South, or the Midwest!) If you live in the 10 western states, you need to order from our WESTERN Monarch Caterpillars page.
Shipping for Eastern Caterpillars is only available to the states and cities EAST of the Continental Divide (see map in pictures)
These kits are very easy, and perfect to watch 12 monarch caterpillars form a chrysalis. It comes with everything you need. 12 Native Monarch Caterpillars, and NO MILKWEED REQUIRED- these larvae will be nearly fully grown, so you can watch them form their chrysalis the day or two after they arrive at your door. (you can upgrade to add a few stems of milkweed if you want to watch them feed for a day or two). You can release your 12 adult monarchs outside about 10 days later! This is the highlight of the whole experience!
Shipped orders are sent using NEXT DAY overnight delivery for $50 to guarantee safe arrival in hot weather. This is the only safe shipping option, and we will guarantee safe arrival. Shipping is usually sent out the following Mon-Wed to avoid the risk of the order getting stuck over the weekend.
Instructions: Set up the butterfly enclosure, and place the caterpillars and optional milkweed all together on a table or counter at room temperature, and watch!
